01 - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
02 - In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
03 - Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
04 - Place a non-stick griddle or skillet over medium heat and lightly grease the surface if necessary.
05 - Pour 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the hot griddle. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges appear set, approximately 2 minutes. Flip and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown.
06 - Remove the pancakes from the griddle and allow them to cool slightly so they become pliable for shaping.
